Upgrade 3.4 Error Unable to prepare

I can see all the news in my page, i just cant do anything in the admin side.
I allways get this error:

"Optimizing all tables: Unable to prepare: OPTIMIZE TABLE news30_story

If you edit the modules/home.php module, on about on 93~ you'll see the following lines

DataAccess::put("OPTIMIZE TABLE $newstable");
DataAccess::put("OPTIMIZE TABLE $newstable");
.....
DataAccess::put("OPTIMIZE TABLE $newsprivate");
DataAccess::put("OPTIMIZE TABLE $newsprivateout");
DataAccess::put("OPTIMIZE TABLE $newsaccesslogs");

Delete all of those lines then save and the problem should hopefully go away.
