error after install

when i login into the admin section i get this error:

Unable to prepare: OPTIMIZE TABLE news30_story

And I cant do anything in admin panel, there are no options etc..

Edit the modules/home.php file, on line 95~ you'll see this section of code

Simply delete that and the error message should go away.

Ok, and are we allowed to remove the "powered by..." at the bottom of the news posts? If so, what do i need to do?

I'd prefer if you didn't remove it. But if you can figure out how then by all means, feel free.
