Is there a way that when you click on the full story link, a popup would appear showing the full story instead of being taken to another page? If not, is there a way that a back link could be put on the full story page?

The functionality to open the full story/comments is already built into the system except it was only ever added to the comments link, basically if you login to the system, goto Options>System, you'll see an option called


Enabling this will do just that. You could use this to have the new window open instead of using the [readmore] link. This isn't a perfect solution but it should do what you want it to do.

I'll add that option to open the full story in a new window in the next release.
