I installed N-13 in a test directory as I have been building my site. I'm getting close to where I can go live which will entail publishing my site up to another directory and then pointing my domain name there. The live site will be on the same server, but a different directory and instead of browsing to it using http://xxxxx.netsolhost.com/testdirectory/ I will be able to input the domain name directly, which is pointing to http://xxxxx.netsolhost.com/domainname/ on that server.
When I make that change, I know I will need to make some changes on my html pages but what's the best way to avoid problems with N-13 admin?
I can see some places in the set up (e.g., System>Other>Image uploads path) where it's pointing to http://xxxxx.netsolhost.com/testdirectory/. Is changing these places all I have to do or should I copy the whole N-13 directory to http://xxxxx.netsolhost.com/domainname/?
Can I just copy it to the new location and modify places like System>Other>Image uploads path or do I need to reinstall it?
Given some of the issues I had when I first installed, I don't want go through that again (or, drag you though it either!) if I can help it. But I think we solved them by uploading a php.ini file which will still be on the server and also modifying the news/db.php file which I can copy the "old" and replace the "new" if I need to reinstall.

Once you move the script to a new location the following settings are that would need to be changed.
Options > System > Image uploads path
Options > System > Script path
Options > Smilies > All of the smilies will be pointing to the wrong location, use the link at the bottom of the page to fix that "Update path of all smilies", this will allow you to replace the old path of the smilies with a new one automatically.
Thanks, just to clarify though. You said "Once you move the script to a new location". Are you referring to when I upload the site to it's new location, or do I need to copy the N-13 /news directory from the old folder to the new?

You can do it both ways. Moving the existing directory would be easier. If you choose to upload a new copy of the script you'll just need to manually edit the db.php file and add the correct settings (assuming you're using the same database). Also delete the "update" & "install" directories if doing it this way as they won't be needed.
