I'm trying to change the "Uploads" path via System > Other, but the change seems to be ignored.

The default was:
www.domain.com/news/uploads/

and I tried to change it to just:
www.domain.com/uploads/ (above the /news/ directory)

If I try to upload an image or file, they still go to:
www.domain.com/news/uploads/

Is this possible, or should I just leave it?

( www.domain.com/news/ is where the N13 script lives )

Hi Ray,

Can you go into your database and change it there? I found the field in news30_options table and the field uploadpath.

Just wondering if it's an interface problem but you can modify it directly in the db.

Thanks, Sally

Your post gave me an idea.

I looked at the SQL database using phpMyAdmin. Upload Path was http://.../news/uploads/

I then changed the upload path in the N13 Admin Page (Options > System > Other > Image Uploads Path) to http://.../uploads/

Then I looked at the database again. The path listed did indeed change in the SQL database. Yet when I uploaded an image, the file still went to the previous folder of http://.../news/uploads/.

It's not really a big deal. I have a CMS installed on the same site, and wanted to have a common, root level folder for uploads from both the CMS and News, so it would be easier for the client to find and access images regardless of whether they were uploaded using N13 or the CMS. I'll just leave it as is. Just curious if this is a bug, or something I'm missing.

Chris doesn't seem to be around much lately. Hopefully he's out making some money from his massive programming skills...
