Strange characters in news

Hi all,

Need some help.. when a new item gets put on the news page, and it contains ' automatically slashes appear when its published.

Can anyone help with how to fix this so it doesn't happen?

You need to turn off magic_quotes_gpc, see this thread for instructions on how to do that.

Thanks for your assistance.

Due to restrictions on the webserver I am hosing the news on, it was giving me 500 Server Errors, and in the end used a php.ini file with the content of:

magic_quotes_gpc = off

I placed it in the same folder as admin.php for the news server.

I hope this helps anyone else.
